Let the present age of Suresh be x years. Then, the present age of Ramesh = (x+16) years.

20 years later,

Suresh's age = (x+20) years

Ramesh's age = (x+16+20) years
= (x+36) years

According to question,

x+36 = 4(x)

=> x+36 = 4x

=> x-4x = -36

=> -3x = -36

=> x = -36/-3

=> x = 12


Hence, the present age of Suresh = 12years.

The present age of Ramesh = (12+16) = 28years.
