Ramesh is planning to buy a rectangular plot for constructing a bungalow. The length and breadth of the plot are in the ratio of 8:7. The cost of fencing the plot is Rs. 75000/- at the rate of Rs. 100 per meter. Find the dimensions of the plot.

Given :-

To Find :-

Dimensions of plot

Solution :-

Perimeter of plot  = Cost/Rate

Perimeter = 75000/100

Perimeter = 750 m

Now, Let the length and breadth be 8x and 7x

Perimeter = 2(l + b)

750 = 2(8x + 7x)

750/2 = 15x

375 = 15x

375/15 = x

25 = x

Length = 8x = 8(25) = 200

Breadth = 7x = 7(25) = 175 m
