Ramesh is thrice as good as workman as bipan, and is therefore able to finish a piece of work in 40 days less than bipan, find the time for both together to complete the work.

 Let \: Ramesh \: can \: finish \: a \: work = x \:days

 Bipin \: can \:finish \:the\: same \:work \\= 3x \:days

 3x - x = 40 \:days

 \implies 2x = 40 \:days

 \implies x = \frac{40 \:days}{2}

 \implies x = 20 \:days

 Ramesh \: can \:do \: the \:work \: in \: 20 \:days

 Ramesh \: 1 \:day \:work = \frac{1}{20}

 \therefore Bipin \:can \:do \: the \:same \:work\\= 3 \times 20 \\= 60 \:days

 Bipin \: 1 \:day \:work = \frac{1}{60}

( Ramesh + Bipins ) \:one \:day \:work \\= \frac{1}{20} + \frac{1}{60} \\= \frac{3+1}{60} \\= \frac{4}{60} \\= \frac{1}{15}

 \therefore They \: together \: complete \:the \\work \: in \: \green { 15 \:days } .
