Let the original amount of money be ₹ x.

So, After losing 20% of his money, he has (1 - 0.2) x = 0.8 x

Now, he spends 25% of this money, so we have,

0.8x × (1 - 0.25) = 480

⇨ x = 480 / 0.6 = 800

let the amt. ramesh has be x

he lost 20%i.e. 20/100 =1/5, now remaining amt. of money is 1-1/5 = 4/5

he spend 25%i.e. 25/100 = 1/4 ,now remaining amt. available to him is 3/4 thus,

x × 4/5 × 3/4 = 480(amt. now ramesh having)

by solving we get x = 800
