He must have observed that the crystal of copper sulphate in beaker A has diffused evenly than in beaker B. This describes the phenomenon of diffusion. On heating, diffusion becomes faster because the kinetic energy increases. So the particles of CuSO4(copper sulphate) must have diffused with the particles of hot water quickly than in the cold water.

Heyy mate here is your answer:

Crystals of copper sulphate will start dissolving faster in the glass containing hot water because the temperature increases the kinetic energy of particles and it therefore diffuses faster than in cold watered glass. -> This suggests that matter have space between them.
