ramu purchased 3 1/2 meters of cloth to stitch a dress.if 1/3 of cloth is wasted in cutting find the length of cloth used for stitching a dress .​

Answer:

The Total Length of the Cloth Ramu Brought at first = 3 1/2 meter or 7/2 Meter(changed into improper fraction)

The length of cloth which was wasted in cutting = 1/3 Meter.

Then the length of cloth used for stitching a dress = (Whole part) - (Wasted Part) units

or, 7/2 meter - 1/3 meter *take the LCM and convert it into Like Fraction*

LCM = 6

7/2 = 21/6 1/3 = 2/6

Now the subtraction Part.

21/6 - 2/6

or, 19/6

or 3 1/6.

The Part Of cloth which was used in Making a dress is = 19/6 Meter or 3 1/6 Meter.
