Area of the given triangle PQR
= (1/2) × base × height
= (1/2) × PR × QS
= 0.5 × 7× 5
= 35 ×0.5
= 17.5 square cm
This is the correct method to calculating the area of the given triangle.
When calculating the area , the altitude must be measured from
given base to the opposite vertex .
So the first area is correct one .
I hope this answer helps you

Dear student,
Answer: Ramu is correct.
Solution: In Δ PQR
here is a right angle at S, so height will be SQ and base will be PR.
ar(Δ PQR) = 1/2 base x height
ar(Δ PQR)= 1/2 ( SQ)(PR)
ar(Δ PQR)= 1/2 ( 5)( 7)
if a perpendicular is drawn like attached figure and length is given then we can calculate the area as taking QR as base and height as perpendicular's length.
Hope it helps you.
