He thought of a plan to prank the fellow villagers. He cried "Wolf! Wolf!! Help! Help!!" The villagers who were busy in drying the grains, lifting water from a well, ploughing the fields, watering the crops rushed with lathis in their hands to help him. But to their amazement they found no wolf. Instead they saw Ramu swimming in a pond and laughing. He repeated this several times until one day wolf actually came, Ramu cried for help but no one turned up and hewas badly wounded.
