Ramya simplified a rational number in this manner, -25/-30 = -5/6. What error did the student make? IN MATHS

-25/-30 = -5/6

The error she made is that she did not simplified the denominator correctly.

As -25 = -5 x 5

If she divides -25 with 5 then she should divide -30 with 30 to simplify the rational number

So, She should have done the following

-25 ÷ 5 / -30 ÷ 5

For which the Ans is

-5/-6 instead of -5/6
