Question :-

Find the range of data: 21, 6, 17, 18, 5, 4, 25

Options :-

i) 20

ii) 21

iii) 23

iv) None of these

Required concept :-

To find the range of data, first order the data from least to greatest. Then subtract the smallest value from the largest value in the set, ignoring the others.

Solution :-

Ordering the data from least to greatest, we have :-

4, 5, 6, 17, 18, 21, 25

Thus, the smallest value is 4 and largest value is 25.

Finding the difference of the smallest and largest value, we have :-

25 - 4, which is equal to 21.

Hence, the range of data: 21, 6, 17, 18, 5, 4, 25 is 21.
