a + b + c = 4
( a + b + c )^2 = 16
a^2 + b^2 + c^2 + 2 ( ab + bc + ca ) = 16
10 + 2 ( ab + bc + ca ) = 16
2 ( ab + bc + ca ) = 6
ab + bc + ca = 3
( a + b + c )^4
=> [ ( a + b + c )^2 ]^2 = 16^2
=> [ a^2 + b^2 + c^2 + 2 ( ab + bc + ca ) ]^2 = 16^2
=> [ a^4 + b^4 + c^4 + ( 2 ( 3 ) )^2 ] = 16^2
=> [ a^4 + b^4 + c^4 + ( 6 )^2 ] = 16^2
=> [ a^4 + b^4 + c^4 + 36 ] = 256
=> a^4 + b^4 + c^4 = 256 - 36
=> a^4 + b^4 + c^4 = 220
