Let Rani's income = Rs x
Expenditure = 20 % x
= 20x/100
= x/5
Savings = income - expenditure
2000 = x - x/5
2000 = ( 5x - x ) / 5
2000 = 4x/5
2000 × ( 5/4 ) = x
500 × 5 = x
2500 = x
Therefore ,
Rani's income = x = Rs 2500
