Rani wanted to paint the outer surface of a closed cuboidal wooden box of dimensions
20 cm x 15 cm x 10 cm. Calculate the area that has to be painted, if the thickness of the wood is 1.5 cm.

The TSA of the cuboid is 2(lb + bh + hl)

So, 2 ( 20 × 15 + 15 × 10 + 10 × 20 )

= 2 ( 300 + 150 + 200 )

= 2 ( 650 ) = 1300 cm²

Therefore the area to be painted is 1300 cm².

Circumference of cylinder is 132 cm

2πr = 132

r = 132 × 7 / 2 × 22

r = 6 × 7 / 2 = 3 × 7

r = 21 cm

h = 35 cm

Volume of cylinder , V = πr²h

V = 22/7 × 21 × 21 × 35

V = 22 × 3 × 21 × 35

V = 48,510 cm³
