(ii) Solution Y + Sugar solution Phenolphthalein turns pink. (iii) Solution X +SolutionY Phenolphthalein remains colourless. Identify the nature of the solutions X and Y. Give one property for each of them.

i) With Solution x phenolphthalein remains colourless

So x solution is acid.

ii) With solution Y+sugar  phenolphthalein turns pink

So y solution is Base.

iii) Therefore, for X+Y solution its will be Strong acids + Weak Base = No colour change.
