Ranjeeta purchased a set of cosmetic in Rupees 150 .she paid rupees 165 for it including Sale Tax if the rate of sale tax is 10% find the cost price of the set

sale price including sales tax = 165

let cost price be 'x'

sales tax rate = 10%

we know that....  cost price +   sales tax rate = sales price inclusive of slaes tax

x + 10%(x) = 165

x + 0.1x = 165

1.1x = 165

x = 165/1.1 = 150 = cost price
