As the rebate of the bicycle is 10% so the bicycle's price is 90% of the original price. Hence, Ravi has to pay the amount of Rs 11925 to buy the bicycle.

S O L U T I O N :

\underline{\bf{Given\::}}

Ram buys a bicycle with a marked price of Rs.12500. He gets a rebate of 10% & after getting the rebate, tax charged at the rate of 6% .

\underline{\bf{Explanation\::}}

Firstly, we get discount [using formula of discount];

\boxed{\bf{Discount= \bigg(\frac{Discount \%}{100}\bigg) \times M.P}}

A/q

\mapsto\tt{Discount = \cancel{\bigg(\dfrac{10}{100} \bigg)} \times 12500}

\mapsto\tt{Discount = \dfrac{1}{\cancel{10}} \times 1250\cancel{0}}

\mapsto\bf{Discount= Rs.1250}

Using formula of the selling price with marked price;

\mapsto\tt{Selling\:price= Marked\:price - Discount }

\mapsto\tt{Selling\:price= Rs.12500 - Rs.1250 }

\mapsto\bf{Selling\:price= Rs.11250}

Now,

\mapsto\sf{Amount = S.P. + tax }

\mapsto\sf{Amount = 11250 + (6 \% \:of\: 11250)}

\mapsto\sf{Amount = 11250 + \bigg(\dfrac{6}{\cancel{100} } \times \cancel{11250} \bigg)}

\mapsto\sf{Amount = 11250 + (6 \times 112.5)}

\mapsto\sf{Amount =Rs.( 11250 + 675)}

\mapsto\bf{Amount =Rs.11925}

Thus;

The Amount he payed for the bicycle will be Rs.11925 .
