b) Rashi is seeing this in air and air has refractive index around 1.0003 and glass has around 1.5 so there refraction of rays of light from rarer to denser medium and when light travels for rarer to denser medium we feel that objects appear to be near.

1. The angle of incidence , angle of refraction , the normal at the point of incidence lie on same plane.
2. The ratio of sine of angle of incidence to the sine of angle of refraction is constant or also known as refractive index.
