Given ,

Distance\: jogged\: =\: {\dfrac{5}{12}}\: of\: a\: km

Distance\: walked\: =\: {\dfrac{3}{4}}\: of\: a\: km

To Find :-

Total distance traveled

Answer :-

Total\: distance\: jogged\: =\: {\dfrac{5}{12}} of 1 km

=> Total\: distance\: jogged\: =\: {\dfrac{5 \times 1}{12}} of 1 km

= {\dfrac{5}{12}}\: km

Total\: distance\: walked\: =\: {\dfrac{3}{4}} of\: 1\: km

=>Total\: distance\: walked\: = {\dfrac{3 \times 1}{4}}

= \dfrac{3}{4}\: km

Total distance traveled = Total distance jogged + Total distance walked.

= {\dfrac{5}{12}} + {\dfrac{3}{4}}

LCM of 12 and 4 is 12

= {\dfrac{5 + 9}{12}}

= {\dfrac{14}{12}}

= {\dfrac{7}{6}}

Therefore, total distance covered is = {\dfrac{7}{6}} of a kilometre
