ANSWER:

Rashmi's work=15 days

preeti's work=10 days

rashmi 1 day work=1/15

preeti 1 day work=1/10

2 day work of rashmi=1/15*2

=2/15

2 day work of preeti=1/10*2

=1/5

2 day work of both of them=2/15+1/5

=5/15

=1/3

remaining work=1-1/3

=2/3

work done by rashmi after preeti left=2/3*15

=10 days

Answer:

The remaining work can be done in 10 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Rashmi can complete the work in 15 days

Preeti can complete the same work in 10 days

number of days that they worked together = 2 days

after that the remaining work is done by Rashmi

here we need to find how many days will Rashmi take to complete the remaining work

Rashmi can complete the work in 15 days

then the work can be done by Rashmi in 1 day = 1/15

Preeti can complete the same work in 10 days

then the work can be done by Preeti in 1 day = 1/10

therefore

the work done by Rashmi and Preeti in 2 days =2[ \frac{1}{15} + \frac{1}{10} ]

                                                                             = 2 [ \frac{2+3}{30} ]

                                                                             = \frac{2(5)}{30}

                                                                             = \frac{1}{3}

after 2 days remaining work = 1 - \frac{1}{3} = \frac{2}{3}

2/3 work is done by Rashmi

total work(1) can be done in 15 days

number of days to complete 2/3 work = \frac{15}{1} (\frac{2}{3} )

                                                                = 5(2) = 10 days
