Rat is more evolved than platypus because of the following reasons:-

1. Rat has a supercharged genome unlike platypus
2. Rats have an inherent ability to survive in extreme conditions. But platypus cannot.
3. Platypus lies in sub groups Aves and Mammalia. Rats belong to the sub group of Mammalia and Mammalia has undergone several evolutionary changes since time immemorial. In fact, rats have evolved more than human itself.
4. Rat genome has the ability to 'knock-out' genes which is absent in platypus. It means to remove the genes which make them harder survive.
5. Rats also adapt quickly and their resistance level is also high unlike platypus.

Rat is more evolved than platypus due to following reasons:
1. Rats have evolved how to survive in extreme weather conditions while platypus can't.
2. Rat heredity has the ability to remove genes e.g. "kick-out genes" that can't survive while platypus don't have this characteristic.
3. Rats have higher resistance level than platypus.
4. Rats have ability to adapt quickly while platypus can't.
5. Rats have powerful genome while platypus has weak genome.
