Ratan was trying to charge a metal rod using friction.He held the rod in his left hand and started rubbing it with a felt cloth while standing bare foot on the ground. When he used a electroscope to detect the charges he found that the rod did not get charged. What was the reason.

The reason is that our body is a good conductor of heat and electricity because many types of salts are present in our body so the charges which charged the rod passes through our body and goes to the Earth and the rod looses the charges .So, the rod isn't seen to be charged.
