The ratio of the rates of diffusion of two gases is related to their molar masses. That is that

(rate(1)) / (rate(2)) = sqrt(Molar mass(1))/sqrt(Molar mass (2))

hence the ratio between diffusion is:

Ratio = sqrt(1.008)/sqrt(16.00)

=0.25

Therefore since hydrogen was our Molar mass one the ratio between Hydrogen:Oxygen 4:1, thus Oxygen:hydrogen is 1:4
