we know that evaporation is a surface phenomena.
and when salt is added to water it fills the intermolecular spaces and when the surface of water evaporates there are salt particles also and salt is a non volatile substance
so salt makes it difficult for water to evaporate faster and thus make rate of evaporation to get decreased......
