The catalyst is used in any reaction so that the A.E of the reaction can be lowered down.

The catalyst will increase in the rate of the reaction by the lowering down of the activation energy.


Hence, the reactant molecules will collide with so much energy that will be enough to surmount the small barrier of energy that is created.
