Step-by-step explanation:

assume present age as 5x

8 yrs back 3x

5x- 3x=8

2x=8 --->x=4

5x--->5*4 =20 present age

20-5=15

15/1*2=30 yrs

Answer:

Let the present age of Rudra = x

8 years before his age was = x-8

Ratio of his age = 5:3

x/x-8=5/3

5(x-8)=3x

5x-40=3x

5x-3x=40

2x=40 or x= 20

Therefore present age of Rudra = 20 years

Now ratio between him and his father = 1:2

This means that his father was twice his age 5 years ago

Age of Rahul 5 years ago = 15

Therefore age of his father today = 15*2+5 = 30 +5 = 35 years ( Here we have added 5 because the age after multiplying 2 was of 5 years before and in question we need present age of father so we have first dibs twice rudras age to find father's age 5 years ago and then added 5 to find the present age)
