8x+64=7y+56
8x-7y=-8 equation 2
multiplying equation by 2
8x-6y=0
subtracting equation 2 and 3
-y=-8
y=8
put y=8 in equation 1
4x-3(8)=0
4x=24
x=6
difference of age
=y-x
since y is greater
=8-6
=2
