Answer:

Present ages...

Ram’s age= 3x

Shyam’s age= 4x

According To Question:

After 5 years, the sum of their ages will be 45.

5 years later...

Ram’s age= 3x+5

Shyam’s age= 4x+5

⇒ (3x+5)+ (4x+5)= 45

7x+10= 45

7x= 35

X= 5

Ram’s age= 3×5

= 15 years (PRESENT AGE)

Shyam’s age= 4×5

= 20 years (PRESENT AGE)

Ram’s age= 20 yrs (5 YEARS LATER)

Shyam’s age= 25 yrs (5 YEARS LATER)

VERIFY:

Ram’s age 5 yrs later= 20 yrs (3x+5)

Shyam’s age 5 yrs later= 25 yrs (4x+5)

(3x+5)+(4x+5)= 45

20+25= 45

45= 45

Answer:

Ram=15; Shyam=20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the common ratio be x

Now, Age of Ram = 3x

Age of Shyam= 4x

Ages after five years,

Age of Ram will be= (3x+5) years

Age of Shyam will be= (4x+5) years

Now, sum of ages of Ram and Shyam after five years= 45

⇒(3x+5) (4x+5)=45

⇒7x+10=45

⇒7x= 45-10

⇒7x= 35

⇒x= 35/7

x=5

Present age of Ram,

3x= 3(5) =15

Present age of Shyam,

4x= 4(5) =20
