Given:

A capacitor - resistor circuit has been provided.

To find:

Ratio of charge on 2C and C in steady state.

Calculation:

At steady state , a capacitor acts like an open switch . So , it can be neglected from the circuit as no current flows through it.

So, we have two R resistances and two 2R resistances in parallel .

In parallel combination the potential difference across the branches are same.

Now , V will be divided equally among the R resistors and 2R resistors.

So , potential difference across the 2C capacitor is V/2 .

q1 = (2C) \times  \dfrac{V}{2}  = CV

Similarly , potential difference across the C capacitor is V/2.

q2 = (C) \times  \dfrac{V}{2}  =  \dfrac{CV }{2}

Hence required ratio is :

 \boxed{ \sf{q1 : q2 = 2 : 1}}
