The ratio of cp/cv tells about the atomicity of the gas.

As if cp/cv is 1.4 , then the gas is said to be diatomic.

Using ideal gas equation,

P\times V=n\times R\times T

Here,

P denotes pressure

V denotes volume

n denotes number of moles of gas

R denotes gas constant

T denotes temperature

At NTP, the values are as follows:

P = 101.325 kPa

T = 293.15 K

R=8.314 kPa L K⁻¹mol⁻¹

V as given 11.2 L

So, number of moles of gas will be:

n=\frac{P\times V}{R\times T}

Putting the values of P, V , R and T in the equation will give:

n=\frac{101.325\times 11.2}{8.314 \times 293.15}

n=0.465 mol

Number of atoms will be = 0.465 \times 6.023\times 10^{23}\times 2

=5.61 \times 10^{23}
