Answer:

Given:

The ratio of men and women in a project  team is 3:2

To find:

Percentage of the team members above the 1 lakh

Solution:

Let the number of men and women in the team is 300 and 200

according to the question:

the members having the salary more than 1 lakh

20% of the men

20% of 300

20/100 of 300

60

25% of the women

25% of 200

25/100 of 200

50

Total members are 500

The members of the team which have a salary of more than 1 lakh

60+50 = 110

Percentage of the member having the salary more than 1 lakh:

22%

So, 22% of the member of the team having a salary more than 1 lakh

Given :-

  • Ratio of men and women in a project team = 3 : 2
  • Percentage of men having salary more than 1 Lakh = 20%
  • Percentage of women having salary more than 1 Lakh = 25%

To Find :-

  • Percentage of team members having salary more than 1 Lakh

Solution :-

  • Let the number of men be 300
  • Let the number of women be 200

Total number of team members ,

=> 300 + 200 = 500

Therefore,

Number of men having salary more than 1 Lakh,

 = > 20\% \: of \: 300 \\ = > \frac{20}{100} \times 300 \\ = > 60 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:

And, number of women having salary more than 1 Lakh,

  = > 25\% \: of \: 200 \\ = > \frac{25}{100} \times 200 \\ = > 50 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:

So,

Total number of people having salary more than 1 Lakh = 60 + 50 = 110

Therefore,

Percentage of people having salary more than 1 Lakh,

 = > \frac{110}{500} \times 100 \\ = > \frac{11}{50} \times 100 \\ = > \frac{11}{5} \times 10 \: \: \\ = > 11 \times 2 \: \: \: \: \\ = > 22\% \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:

So, the correct option is (a) 22%

I hope the answer helped you and you understood well.
