Let X and Y be the number of red and blue circles respectively.

Then, by question,

X:Y=1:3

Now, if L be the number of circles needed to make the ratio 3:1, we get,

X:Y+L=3:1

or X/Y+L=3

or 1/3+L=3

or 3L=9

or L=3

Therefore the required number is 3.

Hope this will help you.

total number of red circles: total number of blue circles = 1:3

therefore number of red circles required to make red : blue = 3:1 =?

lets assume that there are 1 red circle and 3 blue circles

therefore number of red circles required

=> (x+1)/3 = 3/1

=> (x+1) = 3*3

=> x+1 = 9

=> x = 9 - 1

=> x = 8

Hence 8 more red circles required to make the ratio of red circles to the number of blue circles

I hope this helps. Please mark my answer as the branliest.
