Answer:

6:5

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of two numbers: 4 : 5

Numerator

Numerator increased by 20% = 0.2

4 + 0.2 × 4 = 4.8

=> 4.8

Denominator

Denominator decreased by 20% =0.2

=> 5 - 0.2 × 5= 4

=> 4

=> 4.8/4

=> 1.2/1

=> 6/5

=> 6: 5

In this question, numerator is increased by 20% and denominator by 20%.

Numerator = 4

Denominator = 5

After solution:

Numerator = 6

Denominator = 5

Given :- Ratio of two number is 4 : 5. if first number is increased by 20% and second number is decreased by 20%

To find :- After increasing and decreasing , what will be the ratio of the numbers.

Salutation :-

Let , the common ratio be x

Then , the first number be 4x and , the second ratio be 5x

Therefore , the new ratio be

4x + ( 4x × 20 / 100 ) : 5x - ( 5x × 20 / 100 )

= 4x + 4x / 5 : 5x - x

= ( 20x + 4x ) / 5 : 4x

= 24x : 20x

= 24 : 20

= 6 : 5

•°• The New ratio be 6 : 5 [ • Required answer ]
