 \sqrt{3 + 2 \sqrt{2} }

Write 3 as a sum..

 \sqrt{1 + 2 + 2 \sqrt{2} }

Use the commutative property to reorder the terms...

 \sqrt{1 + 2 \sqrt{2}  + 2}

Now, using +2ab+=(a+b)², factor the expression...

 \sqrt{(1 +  \sqrt{2)} ^{2}  }

Reduce the index of the radical and exponent by 2 ...

1 +  \sqrt{2}

The required solution...
