Answer:

let me explain step by step

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to find the ratioanal numbers between -1/2 and 2/3 . I will tell you simple methods

At first, we have to make the two fractions common

So we will make them common by taking LCM of their denominators, that is, of 2 and 3.

Hence, the LCM of 2 and 3 is 6

hence, we have to now common the fractions with 6 denominator

-1/2 ×3/3(we are multiplying by 3 to make denominator 6 , and if we multiply with denominator then we have to multiply it to the numerator too. So multiply 3 with both -1 and 2 , and the same applies for 2/3)

So, coming back to the topic,

-1/2×3/3 2/3×2/2

=-3/6 4/6

-1Now we have like (or we can say common) fractions with us. now, you must have made fractions equivalent by multiplying the fraction by 1/1 ,2/2 etc.

(for example, a question is asked to make 3 equivalent fractions from 1/2 , so it will be-

1/2×2/2 , 1/2×3/3 , 1/2×4/4

Hence their are 5 rational numbers between -3/6 and 4/6 which are -2/6,-1/6,0/6,1/6,2/6 and 3/6
