Mean method:
We know that the rational number lie between two rational numbers a and b is (a+b)/2
Here a=-1/3 and b=-1/4
(a+b)/2={-1/3+(-1/4)}/2
={-7/12}/2
=-7/24
We have, -1/3<-7/24<-1/4
Now let b=-7/24.
Then we have,
(a+b)/2={-1/3+(-7/24)}/2
={-15/24}/2
=-15/48
Now we have, -1/3<-15/48<-7/24<-1/4.
By continuing this process we can find many rational numbers between two rational numbers .
