Hey friend,
To find a rational number between -2 and -3:
( ( - 2) + ( - 3)) \div 2 \\ \\ = \frac{ - 2 - 3}{2} \\ \\ = \frac{ - 5}{2} \\ \\ so \: \frac{ - 5}{2} \: is \: the \: rational \\ \: number \: between \: - 2 \: and \: - 3

Hope this helps!!!
