What you have written is actually:

12√+3–√+5–√  

[Why? Convention re the order of operations; just like 12/2+1+3 = 6+1+3=10]

The only denominator in this expression is the surd √2

To remove this surd, we just need to multiply the numerator and denominator by √2, thus we have:

12√×2√2√+3–√+5–√  

=2√2+3–√+5–√
