Answer:

given the expression (√2 -5 ) / (√2 + 5)

to rationalise the denominator

multiply both Nr and Dr by the conjugate of tbe Dr = √2 - 5 [ conjugate of √a + b = √a - b ]

[ (√2 - 5)(√2 - 5) ] / [ (√2 + 5)(√2 - 5) ]

=> [ (√2 - 5)^2] / [ 2 - 25 ]

=> (2 + 5 - 10√2)/ (-23)

=> (7 - 10√2)/(-23)

=> -[ (7 - 10√2) / 23

=> (10√2 - 7) / 23
