Every person has both good and bad qualities. Ravana depicted as a villain in the Hindu mythology 'Ramayana' had heroic traits too. He had many good qualities, but one single flaw in his character brought about his downfall. And that is his pride. Though he was a good king, husband and a devotee of Lord Shiva, he was ruined because of his ego and pride.

Answer:

Explanation:

Ravana, the brother of Kuber (god of wealth) was a highly acclaimed king. He had mastered the six Shastras and four Vedas, but despite his wisdom and power, he could not escape the darkness of his ignorance.

His thirst for recognition, strength and power took him to the unrighteous path- he abducted Sita, forcefully kept her in Lanka and challenged Ram for a battle to set her free.

Due to his evil deeds, today, he is caricatured in poor light.
