Ravi added a small amount of common salt to water taken in a graduated cylinder. On dissolving, there was no detectable change in level of water. Explain, why is it so.

because there is no change in the level of water as when on dissolution, salt molecules take up the intermolecular spaces of water. This is so because matter have spaces in between them .
