Answer:

Let the bill after a discount of 30% be ₹ k

According to the Question,

→ Membership discount = 30%

→ Should pay 10% service tax and 8% service charge on discounted bill

→ Ravi paid ₹ 4743 (tip of ₹ 200)

To Find:

⇒ How much money did he give as service charge?

Solution:

{\dfrac{k\;*\;118}{100}  = 4743 \;\;200}

{\dfrac{k\;*\;118}{100}  = 4543}

{k = \dfrac{4543\;*\;100}{118}  = 3850}

\mathsf{Service\;\:charge} \;=\;{\dfrac{3850\;*\;8}{100}}

On further simplification,

We get..

₹ 308  (Option d)

Service Charge = ₹ 308

 \huge{ \mathtt{ Given-}}

  • Discount got by Ravi on the original bill =30%
  • Service tax had to pay by him =10%
  • Service charge on the discounted bill =8%
  • Total amount paid by Ravi = Rs.4,743(tip of ₹ 200)

 \huge{ \mathtt{Need \:  to \:  find-}}

  • Money given by him as a service charge

 \huge{ \purple{ \mathtt{Solution:-}}}

Let the bill after 30% discount be Rs.'x'

According to question

 \large{  =  > \frac{ x \times 118}{100}  = 4743 - 200}

\large{ =  >  \frac{x \times 118}{100}  = 4543}

\large{ =  > x =  \frac{4543 \times 100}{118}}

\large{ =  > x = 3850}

Therefore, service charge =

 \large{ =  >  \frac{3850 \times 8}{100} }

 \large{ =  > Rs.308}
