Ravi catches few fishes from a sea. All his fishes are dead which he kept in a bucket. The bucket has sea water in it. He must go back home which is very far from the sea. Should he empty the bucket from the sea water and carry just the fishes? Explain.

Yes, he should pour the sea water out of the bucket for the following reasons:

1.) The sea water would add unnecessary weight to the bucket which Ravi would have to carry.

2.) Fish excrete waste, and if the fish are left in sea water for an extended period of time, it can be toxic for them. Harmful microbes could also grow on them.

3.) Fish require oxygen, which is found in the water. Once all the oxygen is depleted from the water, the fish would pass away.

Note: The last to points are only if Ravi wants to keep the fish alive.
