Question Tags, also called Tag questions turn a statement into a question. Usually if the main clause is positive, the question tag is negative, and if the main clause is negative, it's positive. Also, the tense of the tag is determined by the tense of the auxiliary / modal verb of the statement that precedes it.

Some examples are as follows :-

• It's hot ( positive ), isn't it ( negative )?

• It isn't hot ( negative ), is it ( positive )?

• You haven't seen this film, have you?

• Your sister lives in London, doesn't she?

• She is a doctor, isn't she?

• He isn't here, is he?

• I don't need to finish this today, do I?

• Sophia eats cheese, doesn't she?

• The bus stop's over there, isn't it?

• They could hear me, couldn't they?

• I'm never on time, am I?
