Ravi has built a cubical water tank with lid and each outer edge 2.5 m long. The outer surface of the tank excluding the base is covered with square tiles of side 25 cm long.Find the number of tiles required.​

Given :-

• Edge of tank = 2.5 m

• Side of tile = 25 cm = 0.25 m

To Find :-

• Number of tiles required to cover the tank

Solution :-

★ Area of tank = 5a²

⇒ 5 × 2.5 × 2.5

⇒ 31.25 m²

★ Area of tile = a²

⇒ 0.25 × 0.25

⇒ 0.0625 m²

★ Number of tiles = Area of tank / Area of tile

⇒ Number of tiles = 31.25 / 0.0625

⇒ Number of tiles = 500
