perimeter of square = 4 × side

= 4 × 3 = 12m

distance around the field = perimeter

For 1 round Ravi covers 12m

for 4 rounds, he covers = 4 ×12

= 48m

Given :-

  • Ravi runs around a square field of side 3 m.

To Find :-

  • If he takes four rounds of the field,

  • what will be the distance covered by him?

Solution :-

  • We are given that the side of the field = 3 m

  • Perimeter of a square field = 4 x side

                                                     = 4 x 3 m

                                                      = 12 m

  • Distance covered by Ravi = 4 x Perimeter

                                                    = 4 x 12 m

                                                     = 48 m

Ans. Distance covered by Ravi is 48 m
