Ravi's age = y

According to the question,

x = 12 + 3y ––––– (Eq.1)

x + y = 44 ––––– (Eq.2)

⇒ x = 44 - y –––– (Eq.3)

Equating Equation 1 and Equation 3,

12 + 3y = 44 - y

⇒ 3y + y = 44 - 12

⇒ 4y = 32

⇒ y = 8

∴ Ravi's age = 8 years

Now, substitute value of y in Equation 2,

x + y = 44

⇒ x + 8 = 44

⇒ x = 44 - 8

⇒ x = 36

∴ Ravi's father age = 36 years
