Ravi stepped on a nail and jumped back at once. How did the information travel in his body?

The information was travelled from the skin receptors which then transfers through nerves to the spinal cord and lastly it spinal cord sends the information to the brain.

siddhant88: see sometime if there i is needed a very quick reaction for ex when u touch a very hot cup of tea the impulses goes to the spinal cord and there decision is made

✔This was due to the sharp edge of the nail that hurt his feet . The information was travelled within his body in the form of a REFLEX ARC .

This results in a Reflex Action which causes a person to react quickly at the situation.

agrawaldeepa2003: Brain doesn't take part in reflex action but the information about the reflex action is sent to the brain after 1 or 2 seconds. This is so that we should be aware of what has happened. The brain on its own cannot react as fast as the reflex action. So the part of the reaction process is carried out by the spinal cord, but the information is also sent to the brain so that the person can be aware of the stimulus and prevent himself from that situation again.

agrawaldeepa2003: For example you remove your hand when touching a hot object. This is a reflex cation. But sending the information to the brain makes the person aware that the object is hot and hence not to touch it again.
