Given :

Ravi travelled 1200 km by air which formed 2/5 of his trip. One third of the whole trip, he travelled by car. And the rest of the journey he performed by train.

To find :

  • The distance travelled by train was

Solution :

Distance travelled by air

= 1200 km.

Total journey

= 5/2 x 1200 km

= 3000 km

Remaining distance

= 3000 km - 1200 km

= 1800 km

Distance covered by car

= ⅓ x 3000 km

= 1000 km

Distance travelled by train

= 1800 km - 1000 km

= 800 km

The distance travelled by train was 800 km

Answer:

Suresh travelled 1200 km by air which form (2/5) of his trip.

Then total distance of journey=

2/5×1200=3000km

Suresh travelled =3/1

of journey by car 3/1×3000=1000

Then suresh travelled distance by train =3000-1200-1000=800 km
