Answer:

We will use phythagoras theorem to fing it...

Step-by-step explanation:

Let this forms a triangle ABC.

AB=24 and BC=7

Then using phythagoras theorem

(24)^2+(7)^2=25

Hence the distance is 25 km..

The answer is 25 km

GIVEN

Ravi walk 24 km to east and then 7 km to North.

TO FIND

Find the distance between the starting point and the final position.

SOLUTION

The above problem can be simply solved as follows;

Let the starting point be 'O'.

Distance travelled to north = OA = 7 km

Distance travelled to east = OB = 24 km

Distance betwee the starting point and final position = AB

Applying pythagorus in ΔOAB

AB² = OA² + OB²

AB² = 7² + 24²

= 49 + 576

= 625

AB = √625 = 25

Hence, The answer is 25 km
