In a village there lived a boy named Hari. He was an orphan. His parents died when he was still a baby. The people in his neighbourhood brought him up as their own child. He was very much loved by one and all. They also collected funds every month to pay for his school fees as they had got him admitted in a nearby school. He was helped in his school work by neighbourhood children as they all pampered him a lot.
The boy was given that name, i.e., Hari by the village priest. As he grew a little older he started helping all the people in the colony. He would run to purchase groceries for the women, buy medicines for the men and help the little children in their work. Since, he was loved by all, he was free to enter any house at any hour of the day.
One evening as Hari was lying on the cot, he felt very weak and feverish. He wanted to play outside with the other children, but he couldn’t. He felt lonely and sad. He had missed his mother on that very day. He thought if she had been alive, she would have taken a lot of care of him in this sick hour. At the same time, he saw Gauri Kaki, his neighbour standing at the door with hot ginger tea in her hands. She knew well that Hari had enjoyed and danced in the rain throughout the afternoon and so he must have fallen sick by now. So, he needed a cup of hot tea. After drinking the tea, Hari felt well and relaxed. There were tears in his eyes when he realized how much love and care his neighbourhood people showered on him. He was thankful to God for providing him shelter in such a nice locality.
